Different Pricing for Husband and Wife on HAL Website?

My DH:

Volendam--2038.40 + tax (green)

N. Amsterdam--1999.40 +tax (green)

 

Me: a couple of hundred more for both cruises.

 

Both are green pricing and I do not sign in until I am on the page with the specific cruise (ie: not when I go to the site at first).

I am not familiar with the term "green pricing". Is that something specific to the HAL website. I am looking at that same Volendam cruise, but I always use a large internet website. It lists an inside as $1799 + tax and OV $1999 + tax. I have noticed that when I get emails from HAL the prices are different when I go to the HAL website, then it asks me to login with my mariner number for a different price but I usually give up at that point.

Does your husband gamble? I only ask because I have been looking at a cruise for my self and my sister. I put a cabin on hold and gave the rep at HAL both our names. As soon as she pulled up my sister's mariner # she said "Oh she gets a Casino Rate". It was 4 or 5 hundred dollars less than what she had originally priced the cabin at when I originally asked what the price would be. Maybe that is the difference.

 

I am still wondering what "green" pricing is. Did anyone find out?

I think the other poster is referring to the (green) color of the letters that give the discount price.

Green pricing is what shows on the HAL website sometimes as a "special" rate, usually on cruises after or close to final payment. ALWAYS log-in after you pull up the pricing for a cruise -- you never know.

 

What bugs me about this is now I assume I have to look up any cruise I am interested in under both our Mariner numbers just to see what the pricing is for us. I am not interested in paying a premium I don't have to. Time consuming!

In December my Mariner number cruise quote was lower than my husbands. It turned out I was getting a casino promotion pricing. We used my rate and I made sure my husband gave his card when he played blackjack. Now he's being offered the lower rate as well.
