Anthem 3 day. First impressions.

Recommended Posts

I tried to move the TV again. I was about to rip it off the wall I think. It really did not move. Maybe it's different in different cabins? I looked and felt around all the edges and could find no connections.

Have to say WOW band is not wowing me. It often did not even work to open my door. And I had to pull out my card anyway. So I took it off.

We are making our turn back north now.

Tip: be early to the shows. I had a 7 pm reservation for Spectras and got here at 6:46 just as they let in the huge no reservation line.

Minor irritation : you can only view your photos digitally and they put so many watermarks on them to keep you from taking pictures of their pictures that you can't even really tell if it's good or not.

If you want prints they are ready the next day.

The little thingie holding the TV flat is on the left, IIRC. I don't know the name of this kind of connection. It's just a piece on the TV that fits snugly into the piece on the wall. Give it a good yank, and it will disconnect. ETA: Oh, and only pull from one side. Only one side comes off. If you are trying to pull from both sides, thinking that it telescopes out from the center, then you would be stymied. :)

Photos: Use one of the larger screens in the photo area, and the watermarks won't block the picture as much.

Yes, always get there early for your show reservations, but ESPECIALLY in Two70.

Just a side note, it was the right side of my TV that pulled out, so that varies based on the cabin configuration! But I did have to ask my room attendant because I was pulling and felt like it would break! He told me to pull harder! I did, and it worked!

If there's only one side that you can fit your fingers behind, that would be the side to pull out on! On mine, there was a metal "frame" on the left side so I couldn't have pulled on it if I wanted to! That made it obvious that I had to tug on the right side! :)

But honestly if you feel like you're going to break it, just ask your room attendant! :)

I think I'm going to have to ask my cabin attendant. I'm usually pretty mechanical and I really feel like it's going to break. Now it has become a mission :)

Spectras Cabaret is quite a production. The transformation of the room with that entire back wall becoming a video wall, plus the robot screens, the aerials, the stage movement - quite something to see. The singing and dancing were a little off but the whole thing is entertaining.

I'm still kind of surprised about how the movement affects us all differently. I'm up here on deck 15 right now and it feels very smooth to me. An occasional swell. Liquid in glasses is not tilting.

Careless sorry you are feeling it. But at least we are only supposed to have calmer and calmer seas as we head back.

The poor woman next to me in Chops tonight got sick. She told me this was her 16th cruise and she's never felt the motion like on this boat. We are going agains the wind now (tv says the wind is 34 kts) so it's probably not going to be a great night.

I will admit we started getting a bit more movement tonight. Sort of coming in waves. So to speak.

But hang in there. The wave forecast for late tonight early tomorrow really does get better.

I feel bad for those affected. I like the movement. Reminds me I'm on a ship on the ocean.

Matt, just out of curiosity, where do you get the wave forecast from?

Go to this link. The times are military and are 5 hours ahead based on GMT. So 15z is 3pm in England but 10am for us. Sorry if that sounds complicated. Anyway. By tomorrow morning we are getting deeper blue colors which is like 3-5 foot waves.

Patti! Omg. I have not been mattinla since 2004 :)

Thanks for that info. I have asked a number of crew members who the Captain is and they have no idea.

Solarium Bistro for lunch. Seems like WJ light. Burgers, hot dogs, some fish some curry, soups, salad bar. I hear dinner is quite different.

I'm not sure where previous food complaints have come from. Food is good and looks quite fresh.

In Jamie's I had the arancini risotto balls. And then fettuccine sort of carbonara. Very tasty and the pasta was "light" - meaning the sauce was more about flavor as opposed to being heavy and goopy. The risotto balls were excellent.

I get full very fast so I could not have one of those big desserts. They look great though.

We just had our cabin crawl this morning. All the cabins on this ship are elegant. So different than the usual RCI decorating.

Sorry but only took pics of the view from the "75% obstructed view" balcony on deck 6. View seemed fine.

And our slot pull was moved to 9am Sunday by the Casino Manager. There are 300 Club Royale VIPs onboard and the casino is very busy so they don't want to give us a machine in prime time. Not sure I will be awake for that :)

If I'm repeating things I apologize. I'm not scrolling back over and over.

If I didn't mention it -the All Access Tour was cancelled. "Sanitation Concerns".

We are still in heavy clean mode. They are scrubbing cabin doors and hallway walls. In some places the disinfectant smell is a little too powerful. But I'd rather have a clean ship.

IFly is running. Northstar was not because of the bit of rocking.

So happy to hear the food is good!!

If I had to guess... and this is an educated guess as this is my profession... Even if there are available HDMI ports on the tv, you will not be able to switch to them at all. Most every single hotel atmosphere places there tv's in "hotel" mode so that other inputs can't be accessed. The reasoning behind that is to prevent people, such as yourself, from bringing their own devices and plugging them in. Selling the pay-per-view is why this is done, and if you ask me it makes perfect sense if you think about it.

That's fine. I'll just watch in my computer. I have Kodi and don't intend to pay for movies that I can watch for free. Thanks for the info.
