Regal 2/5/17...am I missing something?

We're booked on Regal next winter. Myself and the TA are both a little perplexed why the ship appears so booked up this early out. We've never cruised Princess so I'm not as familiar with their intricacies. Is this normal for Princess? Do TA's hold larger blocks of rooms compared to other lines? It's a 7 day cruise that doesn't have a particularly unique itinerary.

I've Googled special events, groups, school holidays, etc. and nothing stands out. I'm not opposed to a big group being on board so I've heard some horror stories so I am left a bit baffled. I know you can't compared the two, but if I look at the Celebrity cruise we were considering for the same dates, there are tons of cabins available :confused:

I don't pretend to know, but the Super Bowl is on the sail date.

MUTS offers a nice venue to watch the big game.

This will be our third Super Bowl cruise and probably the third time we entirely miss the game. I get too wrapped up with being on the ship and out of the cold weather!

That cruise is also being sold as a 14 day cruise. Princess may be restricting some cabins to those booking the 14 days. Thus availability is limited for the 7 days. EM

So slightly different than booking a B2B independently, they will hold cabins to make sure guests doing both the eastern and western portions can remain in the same cabin? Makes sense. Thank you!
