winowino Posted March 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2016 We're getting ready to go on our first cruise! Island Princess, Alaska. Does the Island have the Princess@sea messenging system? We are very low-techies, our cell phones are old flip-phones. But we're thinking of upgrading to I-phones, if that would enable us to keep in contact with each other on the ship. Any advice on this? cb at sea Posted March 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2016 No need to upgrade your phone for a 1 week cruise! Just TELL each other your plans for the day...it's not hard to find each other! Despite the size of the entire ship, the public areas are not that spacious...you can find each other when you have an idea of where the others will be! So...talk to each other at breakfast..or dinner...share your plans! It's quite easy to disconnect from the phones!
Pam in CA Posted March 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2016 We're getting ready to go on our first cruise! Island Princess, Alaska. Does the Island have the Princess@sea messenging system? We are very low-techies, our cell phones are old flip-phones. But we're thinking of upgrading to I-phones, if that would enable us to keep in contact with each other on the ship. Any advice on this?I understand all Princess ships now have Princess@Sea. If you're planning to upgrade anyway, then I'd say it's worth upgrading before going on your cruise. Princess is announcing a new phone this week and prices for all of their other phones will likely drop next month. Otherwise, that's a very expensive alternative to a phone call or Post-It Note. There are phones all over the ship and you can leave a message for any cabin via voicemail. Some people use Post-It Notes or even small dryboards tucked into the outside mail box to write messages for each other.

pablo222 Posted March 14, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Princess is announcing a new phone this week and prices for all of their other phones will likely drop next month. Finally, a new model. The current one is a little dated. http://www.telephonearchive.com/phones/assets/we/princess/princess-pink-rc-full.jpg
