Airline check in whilst onboard ruby princess - Seattle

Hi everyone. I've read that 'some cruise lines' provide onboard check-in facilities the night before arriving in Seattle, for those passengers that have flights leaving on the same day of arrival.

 

Does anyone know if Ruby Princess does this? I'm onboard just for an overnight cruise from Vancouver to Seattle.

 

I have contacted princess but there answer was vague.

 

Apparently ships can provide this service because the port and airport are run by the same company. I think the service costs $20 ??

What you are asking about is called EZ Check. Princess will print your boarding passes and deliver your bags directly to your airline. $20 per person plus your airline's bag fees will be charged to you onboard account.

 

However, Princess only offers this for flights within the US that are ticketed on specific US airlines (excluding several of the budget carriers). So if you are flying directly back to the UK you would not be eligible.

I also think the cruise must be over 5 days in order for it to be even available.

Yes, you must have missed it. Definitely available in Seattle - we've used it.

 

That said, as another poster said, it might not be available for cruises of less than five days. They do need some time to sort things out.

Note that Left Luggage closes fairly early - 3pm sticks in my mind.

 

EZ-check is usually not available on sailings that don't offer baggage service - the short ones are almost universally self-carry.

It's entirely possible. I know it's a bit before scheduled departure and before the parking lot gets locked up, which has caused some minor hilarity to ensue.
