Ok so remember when I said before that this was the first ever trip to Malta for a Carnival ship. As we were getting ready to depart Matt came on the speaker and said that the Valletta government was going to send us off with a cannon salute.

The Pilot Boat had a film crew onboard...they were filming a new commercial for Carnival

I love it that this lighthouse had lawn chairs up at the top....haha

Laura was in the Spa while I was enjoying the Serenity Deck. So after we left port she messaged me on the Hub App to meet her at Guys Burgers for some dinner.

After dinner we headed to our favorite spot onboard...you guessed it...the Red Frog Pub

 

 

My drink matched my shirt...hehe

 

So after a few drinks....maybe a few too many. We headed back to the cabin around 1:00 am. That is the end of Day #9 onboard. Next Port stop was in Palermo, Italy

So in Palermo we got off the ship but we didn't have any plans. We walked down a couple side streets away from the port and we found a pick-up spot for a double decker sightseeing bus. It was 20 euros so we decided that would be a good way to sightsee

One of my biggest things that I enjoy in life is a diet coke from McDonalds. The pop in Europe just wasn't good...it was Coke Light. So when I saw this McDonalds...I had to get a picture

So our tour on the bus lasted about 2 hours. After the tour was over we stopped and had pizza and some Italian Wine. It was very good

The Photo Gallery on the Vista is so high tech and definitely needs to be implemented on all ships. No more searching and searching for your pictures. They are all stored on iPads and can be viewed if you have the Fun Hub App

So after dinner we headed back to the cabin because we knew that tomorrow was going to be an early day in Rome (Civitavecchia)

As we were heading back to the cabin we stopped off in the Family Harbor Lounge

John Heald send us 2 ships on a stick, chocolate covered strawberries, 2 medals, and a bottle of champagne for his chicken hats. I thought that was very nice

So remember when I said that when we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets that I had ever seen at Sea....let me know what you think??

This was as we were leaving Palermo I told Laura to look behind her....I thought she was going to fall out of her chair. We both got up and headed up to deck 11 to capture this beautiful sight

 

I was in complete AWE

 

So that is the end of Day #10 onboard the Carnival Vista. Next Up is the crown jewel port on this itinerary of Rome (Civitavecchia)

I'm a little confused. You didn't post anything about an excursion in Malta, and the photos are all ship photos, or taken from the ship, so it seems like you didn't get off the ship there (Crete and Malta were my favorite stops).

 

But the above photo posted under Palermo is actually the Blue Grotto, which is in Malta. Did you do an excursion and get the photo under the wrong day? I used both my phone's camera and a point and shoot, so uploading them got rather confusing after a while because they didn't show the dates in the same format and after a while, it was all a blur.

 

I took several of Blue Grotto that are almost identical. Since I was running out of memory, I was having to use my P&S camera and I wanted to compare the quality against my phone's camera. Sadly, the P&S quality wasn't nearly as good, so most of my photos from Crete on aren't as sharp or colorful as I'd hoped. :(

 

Just curious if you actually toured Malta.
