jagsfan Posted May 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2016 I read everything I could find in the Ports of Call section, and I'm too old and too hungry to pursue it any more. What I'd like to know is how far Oasis docks from Old San Juan. About how much would taxi fare be? How easy is it to get the ferry? I saw it's .50. It might be fun to do a round trip. We have a Spanish fort that looks exactly like the ones in San Juan near our home, so I don't need to see them.....did that several years ago and was surprised at how similar they are to ours. Maybe I'll just have a pina colada on the ship and call it my Puerto Rico experience. One more question, and I know I'll never find the answer anywhere. Is there ever any transportation from ship to the end of the wharf anywhere? By the time I get off the ship I'm limping and short of breath. That keeps me from doing a lot in ports. I wish they had golf carts or trams or something.
Clarea Posted May 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2016 Oasis will dock right in Old San Juan.
champagne123 Posted May 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2016 Honestly, if you have a problem just walking and breathing to get to the end of the pier, I would suggest either renting a wheel-chair or staying on the ship. The port in San Juan is all up-hill cobblestone streets. (unless you just stay right at the end of the pier). Good luck to you and have a wonderful cruise. jagsfan Posted May 28, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted May 28, 2016 Thanks, that's kind of how I remember it from back when I was much more mobile. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
molsonschooner Posted May 28, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2016 at different ports we have gotten rides in the golf carts. At Labedee you can get a ride back to the ship in a wheel chair with huge rubber tires. Normally a buck or 2 tip each way but if you have mobility issues it is well worth it.
