Rare APDMOM Posted June 1, 2016 Author #151 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Sticking with the ship model theme... let's go see a ship model of a very different kind: :D Did you see that coming?
Rare APDMOM Posted June 1, 2016 Author #152 Share Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) I can't believe it, but I forgot to take a picture of one of the prime spots to watch the parade... It is just to the right of the bar. It would be behind the pillar you see in the far left of this picture. There are some bar stools that overlook the Promenade. There are only a few seats, so be sure to settle in well before the parade. Just one more, for good measure, to keep up with the theme of "too many" pictures: ;) Edited June 1, 2016 by APDMOM highlight tip
Rare APDMOM Posted June 1, 2016 Author #153 Share Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) Closing out day 5, with a picture of us, ready and "dressed up" for our second formal night. Tomorrow, we will finally hit one of my top favorite spots, Central Park, including some of the restaurants in the park. I hope I don't lose you there, because it will be hard to narrow down my favorite pictures. Thank you for reading along. Enjoy planning your adventure! floatel_lvr Posted June 1, 2016 #154 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Great job @APDMOM! Love the pictures and the commentary. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I also learned something new with your "Triangle" trick on the cabin numbers. Never noticed that before. Great stuff.
Singer4Him Posted June 1, 2016 #155 Share Posted June 1, 2016 On the way back from the Sailaway Party, I ran into someone from Izumi, selling Hibachi dinners for 20% off. If we could get there in 5 minutes, we could have the 5:30 seating. Now, we had planned on trying the Hibachi for a long time, so we decided 20% off was a deal! He also informed me we would not need to dress up, since it is the first day. So, we showed up for our hibachi dinner in shorts, no problem. :) Do you remember the cost for the hibachi? Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #158 Share Posted June 2, 2016 Do you remember the cost for the hibachi? It was pretty expensive for our standards - $85 for the 3 of us, with the discount. We enjoyed it though, and considered it a reasonable splurge for a once-in-12 years occurance :D The normal price is $35 per person.

I like a tidy space, because it helps me relax on vacation. Some people may not need them, but when you need as much hair product as I do, you come to appreciate the extra space... LOL! We store our hair combs, brushes, deodorant, sun lotion, regular lotion, bug spray, shades, nail clipper set, etc in those pockets. :)
Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #160 Share Posted June 2, 2016 Thanks for the kind words and compliments! I am back for day 6 - Cozumel. Another ship day for our family!
Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #161 Share Posted June 2, 2016 Good morning on another beautiful day: Sunrise over Cozumel: Carnival Breeze shared the port with us, docked at the Carnival side of the port (which is much prettier than the Royal area, IMHO). Maybe it will look nicer when the construction of the new building is done.
Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #162 Share Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) As promised, we will tour Central Park today. One disappointment was that they had only one tour with the CP landscape specialist on Allure. It was one of the highlights on our Oasis cruise, and I assumed it would be offered twice on Allure, like it was on Oasis. The CP tour coincided with the CC M&M, so I was going to wait until "the tour later in the week". Except, there was no tour later in the week. So, if you are interested in learning some very interesting facts about Central Park, don't miss the walking tour with the landscape specialist. (You can read some of the interesting things we learned on Oasis from my Oasis review, post number 99)... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=46920601&highlight=central+park#post46920601 Without further ado, I present: Edited June 2, 2016 by APDMOM highlight and link
Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #163 Share Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) If you don't have a Central Park balcony, you can still get a bit of a bird's eye view from deck 9. I will indicate in the next post how to get there. Here are a few of my favorite views: One of my favorite spots at night or in the early morning is this round nook right behind the CP sign. It is in the forward, port side of Central Park (by the art gallery and Coach): Daylight views: Edited June 2, 2016 by APDMOM highlight tips
Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #164 Share Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) There are four of these public balconies that overlook Central Park. They are all on deck 9. There is a glass sliding door that you have to "unlock" by turning the handle (just like the sliding balcony doors om the Allure balcony cabins). The arrow indicates where the door is in relation to the elevators: This is a view of the balcony from deck 8 (Central Park): A view of the balcony that you can see over Vintages: Edited June 2, 2016 by APDMOM highlight tip

Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #174 Share Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) From nature to technology... I forgot to post the 'internet café' yesterday. There are actually a few of these rooms that have computers available. They are small, but they do the job - offer computers for internet access (given an internet package is purchased). You can visit the Royal Caribbean websites for free. So, if you want to book a next cruise while onboard, you can browse future cruises on the RC site for free. The computers are a bit hidden on the ship, but signs lead you through the hallway to the computer rooms. Here is the one on deck 9: The arrow indicates where it is on the deckplan. Rare APDMOM Posted June 2, 2016 Author #175 Share Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) I am closing the day out with the fountain show. They had two on Cozumel day. One was during daylight, before Star Wars played in the Aqua theater. It was nice, but not near as beautiful as the one at night. Word of advice: The water sprays really high. Since we had a tail wind (or would it be an aft wind?), the water sprayed all the way to the middle of the theater seats - way beyond the "splash zone". We could even feel the sprinkle in the very back. So, sit far back if you don't want to get wet. I think even up to the 5th or 6th row got soaked when these large fountains were activated: The night show: Edited June 2, 2016 by APDMOM
