lisabbscott Posted May 30, 2016 #126 Share Posted May 30, 2016 Hi APDMOM, thank you for all the pictures! One question for you, can you explain the Small Wonders Scavenger Hunt more? What is a viewer? It sounds like something my family would enjoy doing.
Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #127 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Hi APDMOM, thank you for all the pictures! One question for you, can you explain the Small Wonders Scavenger Hunt more? What is a viewer? It sounds like something my family would enjoy doing. No problem. I have edited the pictures a bit to show more clearly how they work. The small wonders are these posts that look like they are just there for decoration, but they have a glass circle at the top (see the yellow arrow). You have to lean down and look into that glass to see a piece of hidden art inside. It is kind of like looking into a microscope (just larger). The viewers look like binoculars on a stand. So, you look into them with both eyes to see the hidden art or picture: Enjoy your scavenger hunt! It is a lot of fun! :)
Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #128 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Thank you for your in depth review and photos. We sail Allure in October. Great job. You are welcome! Enjoy your cruise and "De Colores!" :)
Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #129 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Enjoying your review, will be on the Allure June 26th, can't wait to see some of things you have pointed out..thanks I was hoping for a last minute price drop on that cruise, but it is super expensive right now. So, it looks like we will be driving to Ohio instead. Enjoy your cruise!
Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #130 Share Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Closing out day 4 with "How to Train your Dragon" on ice: This ice show was not available for reservations, so we thought we would have a hard time getting seats. Surprisingly, there were plenty of seats open, even when the show started. This may be due to the low number of children on our sailing. The show was fun and very well done. However, I would recommend you watch the movie before attending the show. I think it would be a bit hard to follow the plot if you don't know the movie. We had borrowed the movie from our local library about a month before the cruise, so we were familiar with the characters and the plot. Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #131 Share Posted May 31, 2016 That is it for today. I am one day ahead of schedule, but will have a long day at work tomorrow, so I hope to get day 5 completed tomorrow night. Coming up tomorrow will be a visit to the Solarium :) Thanks to everyone for reading along, and for the compliments! My cruise is not officially over until this review is completed. I am having fun! ;)
Mari1023 Posted May 31, 2016 #132 Share Posted May 31, 2016 I did not participate in the classes, but did notice the sign up sheets filled up fast. So, I would recommend you go straight to the fitness center when they open on boarding day to sign up for classes. I must say that I was disappointed in the fitness center. It took 3 tries to find a bike that worked. One had a broken screen, so it would not advance for you to input your excercise. Another had a broken seat. The third one finally worked. It seemed like they had much fewer machines than on Freedom. I gave up on the fitness center, and enjoyed walking the track instead. Well this will bum me out because I enjoy working out, but are the fitness classes free?

Clarea Posted May 31, 2016 #134 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Well this will bum me out because I enjoy working out, but are the fitness classes free? There is usually an early morning class or two for free, but most are extra cost.

Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #141 Share Posted May 31, 2016 We will be on the ship along with DeCorles in October. Any pictures of Central Park Balconies? Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, that was not available on our cabin crawl. I have many Central Park pictures, with a secret spot or two. I will post those tomorrow. :)

You are a role model to all of what CC should be about. ...And a big thanks to the rest of my readers for all the comments, compliments and words of appreciation. I am having fun going through my pictures! Well, my long work day is over, I had a great homemade chicken taco salad, a Magnum ice cream, and I am ready to roll with day 5. Here we go... Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #144 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Good morning on Day 5, a beautiful day at sea: Today, we will tour the Solarium, find an internet nook, and just visit some random areas on the ship, including the model ship. Come tour Allure with me.
Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #145 Share Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Unfortunately, all my visits to the Solarium were early in the morning, so I do not have pictures with the cushions on all the seats. Note, the Solarium and Cantilevered hot tubs are for passengers 16 years and older only: Samba grill and menu: Edited May 31, 2016 by APDMOM

Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #148 Share Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) In keeping with the sunny side of things, let's go find the sundeck. In order to show you the sundeck, I will use the ship model. The sundeck is indicated by the red arrow: There is only one way to get to enter the sundeck. Go all the way forward on the port side deck 14, past all the cabins (Port side is left side, while facing forward). You will see signs posted to get there: The left side of the sundeck: A view of the helipad from the sundeck: Edited May 31, 2016 by APDMOM highlight tips
Rare APDMOM Posted May 31, 2016 Author #149 Share Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) I learned something new about orientation on the ship from a fellow CC member at our cabin crawl. The signs in the hallways and the number on your cabin door give you a clue to know where the front of the ship is... See the little triangle notch on the edge of the circle around the sign? It always points forward. So, if you get turned around, just look at any cabin number and see which direction the triangle is pointing in... that is forward. Rare APDMOM Posted June 1, 2016 Author #150 Share Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) Speaking of the ship model: It can be located on deck 15 aft, close to the Windjammer stairs. ...and just because I am a geeky kind of girl, I have to include some interesting reading material. Here is a comparison of "Song of Norway" and "Allure" (I hope it is legible on the smaller sized picture): Song of Norway: Edited June 1, 2016 by APDMOM highlight tip
