MSUcruisers Posted October 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2005 In January we are going on the Sapphire Princess. This will be our seventh cruise, but our first one with Princess. I was suprised to read on reviews that there is now a charge for after dinner cappuccino and juice outside breakfast time. On Carnival and NCL, we always enjoyed free cappuccino after dinner. Besides alcohol, gratuities, tours and purchases in the boutiques, what else should I expect to pay for? I do not use the casino or play bingo. CruiseFever Posted October 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2005 Ice Cream except in the mid afternoon when they set up an ice cream bar in the Horizon Court. There is not a self-serve ice cream machine. The ice cream place, "Scoops", you pay for. The only free drinks are coffee and tea all the time. Juice is free at breakfast....no Fruit Punch or Lemonaide for free. Hmm, what else? Room Service is free and you can order whole bottles of booze to be delivered to your cabin from them. Seems like there's something else but I can't put my finger on it right now
DesrtDrmr Posted October 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2005 Soft Drinks! You can buy a soda card for unlimited fountain drinks, not cans, or can purchase cans of soda. You can also buy bottled water on board. The tap water is filtered. Photos, if you buy them, but that's the same on other cruise lines too. Regualar juice, from concentrate, is free at breakfast, but on the Island, you could buy fresh squeezed OJ for $ 2.75.
poajj08 Posted October 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2005 I am traveling with 5 kids on the Sapphire in March and usually they order lemonade or something like that with dinner. If they want a lemonade with dinner, there is a charge? What if you have the soda card, can they get lemonade or fruit punch then, or is it just soda? Nitemare Posted October 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2005 Princess has very good ice cream in the dining room at lunch and dinner. Combine those with the ice cream bar in the buffet area in the afternoon and you probably won't have to pay for ice cream at all!
jbrambach Posted October 21, 2005 #6 Share Posted October 21, 2005 You would also have to pay for the specialty restaurants....Sabatini's & Sterling Steak House.
