Sunshine or Magic

 Share

Recommended Posts

Have been doing my homework for an upcoming cruise for my husband & I...1st cruise alone...I am very interested in the Southern Caribbean itinerary on the Carnival Sunshine but also the Eastern Caribbean on the Carnival Magic...I have read mixed reviews on the Sunshine...so I am a little concerned about a cruise on this ship...Opinions/experiences?

Thanks in advance!

We love the Sunshine, been on her many times. Haven't been on the Magic though.

The Sunshine's Serenity deck is 3 decks high! Deck 11 has chaises some umbrellas and a pool with a waterfall from deck 14. Deck 12 has chairs overlooking the lower decks and a huge area with love seats in the shade. Deck 14 is where you get towels and there is a complete bar here and a large hot tub. They have tables with umbrellas, don't know what to call them but chaise like things the size of a double bed, Big whicker balls with a 1/4 top that is open, big hammocks and of course chaises. Everything has thick cushions including the foot rests. There is no smoking and no kids on the Serenity decks and Carnival means that.

They always have a group playing for dancing in the Ocean Plaza on deck 5, the promenade deck, plus the casino, and Red frog pub with different activities at night and a guitar player in early evening.

On Mardi Gras night , the CD leads it standing ON the atrium bar!

Our favorite cabin is on deck 5 past the back elevators because everything is right there in front of the elevators and our dining room is on floor down below our cabin.

You can't go wrong on the Sunshine and her ports are better.

I just posted about the Sunshine early this morn. NOW, we JUST booked her leaving from Norfolk THIS Friday! We were able to get a cabin on our favorite deck, 5, the promenade! We got off her May 26th and I can't wait until our next booked cruise (Ecstasy) in September! WE live on NC coast so easy drive to Charleston or Norfolk!
