Bazel Posted October 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2005 A friend and her mom will be in Nassau for a 8:00am to 2:00pm port call. Mom won't do any beach stuff but likes to gamble and will likely enjoy going to Atlantis. Don't think mom can walk long (couple miles) distances. Looking for recommnedation and cost estimates for doing Atlantis. Ship offers a few shore excursions with sightseeing paired with the Atlantis stop but I think it will be better to just do it on their own. Scubagirrl gives good suggestion to take cab to Coral Tower lobby, go through casino and acquariums and exit via Royal Tower. Can anyone give an estimate of cost for cab ride and any "admission" charges that Atlantis may charge? Thanks, BZ
scubagirrl Posted October 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2005 Cab from the port should be $4 pp plus $1 toll. (make sure you tell them Coral Tower if you want to do this ). You can walk thru the lobbies, shopping area and Casino for free. The DIGS cost $29 pp, $21 for kids. If you're mom has trouble walking distances DON'T take the Atlantis Excursion with Harbour Tour, you'll have to walk to Atlantis from the Dock, and it's not an easy walk if you have trouble. If she's up to it... she may want to include the Marina Village and Marina.. in which case, take the cab to the ROYAL TOWERS (main door), walk thru to the Coral Tower exit, and enjoy the nearby Marina Village. Either way.. it's a nice day for those who don't want to beach it.
flashdog_1 Posted November 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2005 So there's a bridge somewhere for taxis? What is the price for the ferry? I understand lines can be really long and frustrating. Anyone?
tm3750 Posted November 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Easiest way to the Atlantis is a taxi, You will wait for the ferry and there can be lines. Taxis, however are right out the front door of the port and your on your way:cool:

RenieRaider Posted November 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 25, 2005 Burners: You can try the front desk for a Day Room. $159 for a total of 4 people. IF, IF a avalable. The Ferry is $3.00 and an easy walk to Atlanis. You will not be able to use resturants or pool etc. JUST the casino and Bar.

Vmalcolm Posted November 25, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 25, 2005 Most taxis were mini or large vans. Fare was $4.00 each, each way. Valerie
yogimax Posted November 25, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 25, 2005 The water shuttle is $3 per person and leaves about every half hour when it fills up. I would guess it is a five minute walk from the ship. When you dock on Paradise Island there will be a longer walk to Atlantis.
Mel_N_Dan Posted November 27, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 27, 2005 We hooked up with a guy out front called Charlie Hamilton (taxi 327). We had a very similar situation where mom wanted to gamble/not walk. We wanted to see stuff. He took us all around to see the sights before going to Atlantis. We paid him a quite a bit - about $35 per person, but it was well worth it. We also gave him a little extra to shuttle us to the beach after dropping my mom off and then later he went to get my mom from the casino and then us to shuttle us to the boat (NCL Jewel). But the BEST thing was he himself - hilarious! He was a comedian and very "with it" about things on the island (history, etc.) and life in general. He was a complete nut putting on this "act" that we were all royalty and making things VERY fun. people were really freaked out by him - crazy (but nice and fun) guy. He watched our stuff for the day (video cameras, etc.) when we went to the beach as well. I tipped him an extra $100 - that's how much we liked him! It was like having our personal entertainer! Anyone know of him? His email is charlie_actiontours@yahoo.com
