I'm loving your review. We sail on the Splendor July 2. I couldn't help but notice in your photos (great photos, by the way) that you had tablecloths in the dining room both evenings so far. I thought they got rid of those. Did you have them every night?

The Splendor is on the old menus; which include the table cloths and a few items that are no longer available on American Table.

Thanks for the great review, looking forward to more

Thanks

Tonight was the Studio VIP show. As always I had a great time. I love the shows. If I want to see a Broadway show I have no problem going to NY to see a Broadway show. Some people think the shows are corny, but in my opinion its another form of entertainment that is available on the ship for me to enjoy. Why not? Anyways. I went back to my room because I had an early and exciting day planned for Amber Cove! Bae was waiting for me at the room :p

Next Up: Amber Cove.

I booked a tour with Iguana Mama for the 27 Waterfalls. I would recommend this company because they provided a safe fun experience. I paid for 12 Waterfalls and had the time of my life. Stay Tuned!

Really enjoying your review. Your pictures are exceptional! What kind of camera did you use?

I can't wait to hear about your excursion.

Canon PowerShot. It really is great. I wish I would have read the manual. Some of my pics were blurry because I was using a "Live" feature instead of "Auto".

Im still really enjoying this review. I absolutely loved Grand Turk. We were only there the one time, but we were the only ship so maybe that's why it was easy to find a chair in the shade.

Looking forward to more!

We were also the only ship I believe. But I wasn't rushing off the boat. Def loved the island.

Really enjoying the review. Thanks!

Thanks for reading!

lol, love it! :D

Great review as always - first time to Amber Cove is in January, so will be looking forward to those pics.

Please stay tuned. It was the best time I have ever had.

Great review! I think you have me convinced to get a fanny pack, or waist bag as my amazon skills have told me they're also called.

Thanks for reading. Haha. Lol. Shoutout to Amazon. I purchased mine from boohoo.com. They are European and they call them bum bags. Fanny is an explicit slang word for vagina (in other countries).

Thanks from another solo cruiser!! I'm sailing on the Splendor for the first time in December, on the Western Caribbean itinerary.

Are there plenty of shady places to sit on the ship? I enjoy reading outdoors but the bright sun makes it hard to read my iPad!

Yes you can grab a seat under an umbrella or a clam shell on Serenity. They are alao chairs in the shade on Serenity.

Thanks, bizzybee! I also found a review that shows lounge chairs on the promenade deck just under the lifeboats -- that's one of my favorite places on a ship for reading (it's quieter than other areas), but they didn't have it on the Sensation.

I can't wait to see your review of the 12 waterfalls. Someone else posted a review of it a while back and I'm thinking of doing it on my Vista cruise. Looks like you had fun on the Splendor. :)

Yes. We might have seen the same reviewer. I had the time of my life. I'm hoping to go on the same itinerary for my birthday (Dec 13) for the Vista Dec 11-16. If your on that sailing we can do it together!

Yes that's the sailing I'm on! It's a date! :D There are quite a few people onboard celebrating birthdays so you should definitely book it too.

After reading a lovely Splendor/Amber Cove review that involved sliding on waterfalls; I decided to book with Iguana Mama. There was a code for 10% off $69 and the total came out to $62.10. The purchase is through Paypal. So your girl couldn't swim (I'm from NY, we only have concrete). I also booked a month of swim lessons before the cruise. In three weeks I learned how to swim, float, and tread water. We arrived at Amber Cove at what appeared to be a slow speed and I was a little too relaxed because I thought I had plenty of time to eat breakfast. After breakfast, I was lolly-gagging as the ship was docking and ended up running back to my room to grab my stuff.

Bae brought all his friends to breakfast!

Ya'll I was really playing around. They started making announcements and I flew to my room. The excursion directions said to meet outside the port and it was ten minute walk from the ship. The tour was scheduled to leave an hour after docking. In a mad rush I left the room without my sign and sail card. I had to have my lovely room steward paged to let me back in. Am I the only one that has done this? Be honest. I actually did it twice this cruise. LOl. Finally I made it off the boat in a mad dash.

The final exit area of the port where the taxis and buses are.

When you get out the port you are basically on a highway. The directions said to go to the white tent. But we were really a little further.

Several other guide were waiting. This was our bus.

No worries though because if the stray dogs can safely maneuver over this ledge, you can safely make it out of the cruise port!
