Star Princess cabin questions

We are a family of 4 two of them teenagers, and are booked for Alaska June 2017, I recently switched our cabin from Caribe deck balcony room to a mini suite D704. I know there is no covering on this deck which will be interesting with Alaska's unpredictable weather. My questions are this.

1. how much motion do you feel this far aft?

2. being near the aft elevators/stairwell how noisy is this cabin?

We had friends in 704 last year, according to them - no noise at all from stairs or elevators, barring the occasional extra loud person. We, ourselves, have been in cabins next to elevators and have had no problems at all. Very handy to be right near the elevators, at least for us..

We were further forward wirh our mini, no problems. The uncovered balcony is not, nor has it ever been, an issue for us - not on our Alaskan sailings or Caribbean sailings or Hawaiian sailings. If people want to watch us on our balcony, so be it - if we were on the pool deck, same thing..We're not doing anything on the balcony we wouldn't on deck! As far as weather - it's a crap shoot either way. A poncho or umbrella comes in handy whether on balcony or on deck.

Movement won't be much at all, especially on an Alaskan route as you're rarely out in wide open Seas. Ship is very stable.

I wouldn't be worried, I'm sure it will be a great cabin for you. Happy sails.

My wife is very susceptible to all types of motion sickness & had no problems when sailing in similar aft cabin locations.

I haven't experienced any noise problems near elevators/stairwell but occasionally had noisy passengers & slamming doors anywhere on the ship.

I wouldn't be hesitatant to book your cabin.

have booked this cabin for an alaskan cruise next year and now having second thoughts. Has anyone out there booked this one? Is it noisy? We previously had an aft cabin and loved it. How is the balcony? It appears to be covered. Can anyone help?

There's lots of reviews of this Cabin here on CC, a quick search will bring them up. General consensus - great cabin, somewhat larger balcony, no noise, etc..
