wjf Posted July 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2016 It will be our first cruise with Viking on 31st July and I just wondered whether the ship's laundry charges by piece or by laundry bag as on some other lines?
Peregrina651 Posted July 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2016 It will be our first cruise with Viking on 31st July and I just wondered whether the ship's laundry charges by piece or by laundry bag as on some other lines? Viking has free self-serve laundry on the ship, with automatic detergent dispensers. On decks 3, 4, 5 & 6, port side, midship. Nice sofa and TV as well as iron and ironing board in each launderette. Laundry and dry cleaning service is charged by the piece. There are no bag sales. Prices range from $1 for a pair of socks to $6 for a dress for laundry and $2 for a tie to $8.50 for a men's or women's two piece suit for dry cleaning. There is a 50% surcharge for same-day service. Canadian Sunset Posted July 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2016 Thank you for the picture and description of the laundry rooms. I really like the fact that I won't have my unmentionables hanging in the shower on my cruise in November.
Peregrina651 Posted July 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2016 Thank you for the picture and description of the laundry rooms. I really like the fact that I won't have my unmentionables hanging in the shower on my cruise in November. I took the picture but I never used it. I thought about it but ended up using the laundry service for everything but the unmentionables (we have the hand-washing down to a science now;).) jiminyC_fan Posted July 18, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2016 How busy does the self serve get?
rjscott Posted July 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2016 The self serve laundry was fairly busy, but I found it to be less so during meal times. Becki

fnewman Posted July 18, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2016 Busier on sea days and longer cruises, of course. But never had to wait long.
jiminyC_fan Posted July 19, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 19, 2016 I know to avoid doing laundry on sea days. Yikes. It becomes a nightmare.
