EllieinNJ Posted August 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2016 I've been reading many posts about ferries and bus service and am quite confused. They say the last bus back to Fira is 5pm. Our ship is in from 2pm to 10pm. Can we get a local bus back, say, 6pm or 7pm if we are not taking the ferry but paying for it ourselves?
Marmaduke Posted August 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2016 A couple of years ago we took the bus to and from Oia during the day time. Easy to do, several buses an hour and only a couple of Euros each way (pay the conductor on the bus) According to the bus time table ktel-santorini.gr/ktel/images/pdfs/ktel.pdf buses back from Oia run until nearly midnight. (hope the link works for you)
Rare Hlitner Posted August 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Not a problem, You simply pay the fare to the driver, in Euros, or to a fare collector that is sometimes on the bus. Also keep in mind the buses are first come first serve, and can become very crowded (standing room only) or completely full....if it is a busy day. Brotherleelove Posted August 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2016 This time of year the last bus leaves Oia for Fira at 10 minutes to Midnight. The fare is €1.80. Just get on the bus and someone will come to you to collect the fare. Try to have exact change or a small bill. If you want to see the bus schedule do a Google search for "Santorini KTEL Bus".
