Any free wifi at Western Caribbean ports?

Just wondering if there was anything like the terminals along the Canada/ New England cruise route where there was available wifi.

Half Moon Cay does NOT have free wifi but the others definitely yes. Google "free wifi georgetown grand cayman" (or cozumel or whatever your port) and you'll find lots of them. One site that can't be mentioned here does a particularly good job.

The other ports...same as anywhere else. McDonalds, Starbucks...just ask the crew, they know.

Your cell carrier may provide you a hook-up. Sprint Global Roaming is a no-cost option for their customers that allows you unlimited text and 3G data in most Caribbean ports. Voice is 20 cents/minute.

The crew always knows the free or least expensive wifi spots in every port - plus the passcodes to access - just ask. Wifi locations were a regular pre-port update from our dining steward when he delivered the dessert menus.

We found that we got much better WiFi if we paid a small fee at an internet cafe, usually frequented by crew more than passengers. But for a dollar or sometimes less you won't have to deal with the overloaded bandwidth and overcrowdedness of McDonald's or Starbucks. Best of luck! m--

Many of the free wifi hotspots are not secure. Depending on what you are doing, please be careful. Sometimes paying a few bucks will get you a secure network, but up to you based on your needs.
