Sherun Posted August 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2016 I booked a future cruise while sailing on Carnival and got my $100 cruise credit. Will I lose that credit if I get a price drop?
pokergirl34 Posted August 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2016 No you shouldn't. It is considered different than a promotion. However, you might have to fight for discounts from time to time. I would call if you see a price drop rather than using the electronic form. Saved me time in the long run.
bury me at sea Posted August 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2016 No you will retain that particular OBC through any price drops you might receive. However I have found we have to remind Carnival that the OBC is for booking on board. Also, if you booked during a reduced deposit sale, the total deposit will probably be due when you take advantage of a price drop. Enjoy!

bury me at sea Posted August 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2016 I agree with pokergirl about not using the form. If you price match to a guarantee rate it will cause you to forfeit your early saver status. I book on board and simultaneously transfer the booking to my local TA. Then I check daily for price drops, because some sales last only 24 or 36 hours. When I qualify for one that is not a guarantee rate, I tell him and he deals with Carnival. Unfortunately the price on my most recent cruise increased steadily after I booked, but I was sure happy knowing I had paid a lower rate.

Schoifmom Posted August 25, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Just make absolutely certain that they don't cancel/rebook you when you ask for the price drop. The OBC for booking on board is tied to your booking number. When they cancel/rebook, it changes your booking number.
SadieN Posted August 25, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) After we get refared, I'll wait on the line until I can open the new confirmation and confirm everything. Saves lots of time on the rare occasion that the BoB OBC was left off. We never received a different booking number.
