Virtual balconies

Do the virtual balconies show a random Seascape or do they actually show what's outside the ship? If you're coming into a port, do you actually see where you are?

Real-time view outside the ship.

I believe they show the actual outside, via cameras on each side of the ship. If the screen is against the forward wall of the cabin, you'll see whatever is out the front of the ship. If the screen is against the port side, you'll see what ever the camera sees on the port side of the ship.

We've had a virtual balcony on Explorer. It shows live views. There is a curtain you can draw across to block out the light. We liked seeing what it was like outside...the only drawback to us was how small the room was. It seemed to be smaller than a standard inside.
