Maybe their facts are a bit off. If the vista cost $780,000 then the estimated damages could actually be in the billions. Maybe some obscure exchange math has come into play

How did the writers of the article know the Captain just cruised on "oblivious" to the mayhem behind him. All that is visible to the crew and I'm sure was noted at the time.

 

Was does the tragedy of the Costa Concordia have to do with this event, other than to help paint those rascally cruise lines, particularly Carnival, in a bad light. And the video was so slow I couldn't wait to see it. Much better one on Youtube probably anyway.
