Wife wants to know if the cruise line provide small bottles of shampoo and soap samples in the rooms or do we have to bring our own

Depends on your room type. There is a dispenser in the shower of a combined shampoo/body wash. Usually a small bar soap on the sink. Suites receive shampoo, conditioner, lotion

You normally need a JS or better to get the containers of bathroom amenities. However, your stateroom attendant may be able to provide some if you ask.

Non suites have an all in one goop in the shower and bar soap.

 

JS and up have individual bottles of shampoo, body lotion and shower gel. Plus bar soap

 

The goop is good for washing out your bathing suit

I always bring my own shampoo because the stuff on the ship is an all in one shampoo and I do not need conditioner at all.
