Another question, and it may have been answered here, and I overlooked it.

Does it make a difference if you book through Carnival, or a TA?

I'm thinking if I had a TA, which have always before, unless I am checking, I'm sure they are trying to get as much money as they can, and not give a discount if Carnival would do this.

If anything is it always an OBC, or possibly an upgrade?

Just curious. :)

If you book through a TA, you can get any price changes, but they have to go through the TA, not directly through Carnival.

With this particular promotion, it is only OBC, and it's nonrefundable.

I booked a couple of days ago and my category price went up a total of $10 (Cat 8C).

The T&C states that by clicking 'yes' and agreeing to the T&C then I agree to possibly forfeiting my cabin assignment. Was that an issue? Should I be concerned? I don't want to lose my cabin as we are next to our good friends.

thanks

I answered yes and my cabin was reassigned so if you want to keep the cabin near your friends, you will have to pass on any promotions that Carnival assigns the cabin.

I checked on an OBC tip late last week. I put in my price protection form just on Carnival.com just before midnight. An approval came came back within minutes. I can't believe how quick it took. My Carnival documents were updated immediately. I checked the prices the next morning and the prices went up. Great tip CC.
