Anytime dining MDR reservations

Our experience on past HAL cruises was that you could make dining room reservations up to three days in advance. If you want a prime time, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, you have to beat it down to the dining room and get your reservations in right away. Otherwise the prime times go fast and you end up having to go basically to an early dinner or a late dinner.

Of course your other option is to just show up and take your chances, but sometime the wait times are fairly long.

We recently sailed on Koningsdam for a 7 night cruise. On embarkation day, we called and requested reservations for four people around 8 pm the four nights that we planned to eat in the MDR. We were accommodated with 8:30 and told one of the nights we would have to be seated at a table for six. That was fine and we ended up at a table for the four of us anyway.

Mom and I were on a seven night cruise on the Volendam in May. I'd read online that one could only make reservations for three days at a time. Once we got a nice table the first night and said we liked it, however, we were allowed to reserve it for the rest of the week.
