Debarkation from Dawn in San Francisco

Hi everyone

This will be our first cruise we have been in driving distance. We are going to have someone drop us off, but are not sure how to set up a car pick up at the pier after the cruise, since we are not sure what time we will get off. We would like to get off as early as possible. Anyone have any suggestions on what they have done in the past, or a reasonable time to have a car at the pier for pick up? We are going to Fremont, which is about 45 miles from San Francisco. Thanks in advance for any information.

We did a repositioning on the Dawn through the Panama Canal, ending in SF. We fly out of SF to Ft Lauderdale and left the car in a lot near the airport. It was pretty cost effective (about $10 a day as I remember). There are lots of web sites you can get the latest prices.

We arranged for the airport transfer from the ship, got to airport, called the garage and they came and picked us up. There are also other options were you can park near the pier, but you would probably have to drag your suitcases. I donot know the cost difference between pier or airport parking with the addition of transfers to and from the ship. In our case we only needed the transfer when we disembarked.

Maria this is how we do it. We have a car service take us and pick us up at the pier. We usually tell around the time we will be off. It is usually between 9-10a.m. After we are off we call on the cell phone and within minutes he is there. We have done that about 3 times and works very well. Hopefully that will help you.

We got on this past Monday and you probably will be off by 9:30 at the latest or you can do self -help (take your own bags off) be off by 8:30...you need to go outside the terminal for your pick-up.

Just depends on if everyone clears customs OK
