Liverpoollovely Posted October 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2016 I was wondering if on the Carnival Vista are there ATM machines that give Dollars and Euro's still? As some ports we will be going to we will need Dollars and Euros I recall reading on a review someone said they had a ATM with Euros being given but that was on the Inagural sailing so I am wondering if this is still the case :-)
riffatsea Posted October 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2016 I am sorry that I don't know specifically about the Vista but I have never heard of an ATM machine that gives out 2 different kinds of currency. Be aware that the ATM machines on the ships charge large fees to use them. In my experience it is $6 for each withdrawal. You can use ATM machines in all ports just remember to inform your bank you are traveling.
BuckeyeCruiseGuy Posted October 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2016 (edited) https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1131 Europe Cruises We do not offer a currency exchange service on board. Guests can obtain Euros at the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) on board or in port in order to withdraw the amount of money they will need, usually at a better rate than any of the Currency Exchange locations in port. splintz Posted October 17, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2016 if you use the ATM on a ship that cruises out of an American port does it show up as a USA ATM machine at your bank or does it show up as an international ATM machine. just asking because I have a debit card that if used on any domestic USA ATM machine i am not charged any ATM fees. so if anyone who has used an ATM on board a Carnival ship leaving from a US port could advise it would be greatly appreciated. NCTribeFan Posted October 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2016 OP, I mentioned in my review of the inaugural sailing that there were both ATMs available for either Euros or dollars. I wrote about the obnoxious casino player I kept encountering who was screaming at the guy at the service desk because he'd used the machine that dispensed Euros but he'd wanted USD. I wouldn't imagine they'd change the machines while still in Europe. She's on her last Med sailing right? And then the TA coming up? I would use an ATM in port, although they are sometimes difficult to find. Better exchange rate through them than the Currency Exchanges usually. Bet you can Google the ports and find ATM locations. belkin Posted October 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2016 I actually got a better rate on the ship than what I did at an ATM that was near the Acropolis Museum.
Harry3534 Posted October 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Just bear in mind the ships ATM charges an eye watering 6 euros per transaction, this might offset any favourable exchange rate!!!
