Ft. Lauderdale to Miami ?

We are flying into Ft L but our cruise departs from Miami. Any recommendations on convenient and economical travel between cities ? Thanks.

Took the tri-rail several years ago for a celebrity cruise, the flights into Ftl were too cheap to pass up vs Mia. Once in Miami I juat hired a cab to the cruise port.

Just a question for you, HardToPort, about SAS. I have read Trip Advisor reviews and they are all good. However, I called the number on their web site at just after 3:00 p.m. Miami time and received a voice message saying they are closed. No contact info anywhere else. Do they have an email address ? I have a question for them about my arrival in Ft. Lauderdale at 5:15 p.m. Looks like they don't service after 3:00 p.m. I am right on this? Thanks for your help.

I don't know if they've closed shop. I used them in February with no problems and their website still works.

I believe they only do the transfers early morning to mid day

We rented a car because there were four of us. We went a day early and Stayed at a hotel that had shuttle to the ship so we turned the car in early.

You don't say if this is just you or how many are in your party. There are five of us and airfare to FLL is much cheaper than MIA, so we're going to fly into FLL with our cruise leaving from Miami. Because there are five of us, we're renting an SUV in FLL and will turn it in, in Miami. This will allow us to use the car to go out to eat, check things out in Miami and pick up some wine, sunscreen and a few other things. Each of us will only have a carry on, so we will be limited on bringing liquid items on the plane. When the cruise is over, we will be using a shuttle to get from the pier to the FLL airport.

Depending on how many people you have, it might be least expensive to do a one way car rental. We did that this past March, was very easy and cheaper than a shuttle since there were 4 in our group.

We recently took John's Car Service, as there were 4 of us and we had 6 pieces of luggage. It was $95, including tax, tolls, and tip. We were picked up in a black Escalade that had plenty of room. The driver had bottles of water for us. He met us at the airport with a sign and then took all of our luggage for us. It was a great way to travel.

I believe once you book they will give you a cell phone number for that morning for the dispatcher and you tell him when you get in the airport or off the ship depending which way you're going
