Thank you everybody for your helpful replies. We are trying Celebrity because we want to do the Panama Canal cruise. Royal does not offer that itinerary. If they did, I would definitely sail with them. I am looking forward to having a new experience with a new cruise line.

We are D+ on Royal but recently went on Celebrity Infinity with Elite status on the 15 night Panama Canal cruise. The ship, service, dining, lectures, everything was a top notch experience! You will really like it. We truly enjoy both lines and our next cruise this month is back to Royal on Anthem. Of course the perks are nice but that is a bonus - they do not really influence our cruise decisions.

We have benefited by being members of C&A and Captain's Club. Celebrity is slightly more refined than RCI and attracts a more mature clientele based on our experiences. We really have enjoyed the Southern Caribbean cruises on Equinox (Solstice Class).

Wish Celebrity would consider placing a ship at Port Canaveral - preferably year round! Saturdays are still open at Terminal 1 ;)
