kidzrnseattle Posted November 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2016 What is the best area to stay in for 3 days prior to cruise? We want to do a lot of site seeing and wasn't sure what area has easiest access to street cars or tour stops. Any advise!
TreeLuvr87 Posted November 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2016 The French Quarter will have lots of options for lodging, is central to many of the city's attractions, and has access to several of the streetcar routes.
dctravel Posted November 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2016 Nothing wrong with the French Quarter hotels, but those in the Central Business district (right on the other side of Canal Street from the French Quarter) will also work for your needs. All are easy to walk into the Quarter or to get the streetcar.
HCTiger9704 Posted November 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) What is the best area to stay in for 3 days prior to cruise? We want to do a lot of site seeing and wasn't sure what area has easiest access to street cars or tour stops. Any advise! In the Uptown/Garden District area, they have at least three hotels on the St. Charles trolley lines: 1) Best Western St. Charles Inn 2) Hampton Inn - St. Charles Ave/Garden District 3) Clarion Hotel Grand Boutique I think you might prefer staying in the French Quarter area or the Central Business District (Central Business District is also called the C.B.D.). But I just wanted to give you a few more options that you can check out. Edited November 29, 2016 by HCTiger9704
Rare Saint Greg Posted November 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2016 For me it would depend on which hotels you're looking at....but in general French Quarter or Downtown would be my first option....then warehouse district, then garden district.
