Our cruise will end in Nuremberg so we are looking for suggestions on the best way for four to travel from Nuremberg to Prague? Also, costs.

We are most likely not purchasing the post cruise package from the cruise line so will need to arrange the transfer and hotels on our own.

thanks!

We did this river cruise in October on Amber but the reverse. Now saying that we did the post tour but after finding out they did there transfer though Pilzen which is a beer town we booked our own. As we had been to the area before knew I wanted to go though Karlvory Vory CZ. Left Prague at 8:15 with a private pick up made by our travel agent. Now saying that we had to turn him in for his unsafe driving. There were 4 of us leaving Prague and arrived in Karlvory vory around 11 AM short walk in town and coffee at the Grand Hotel Pupp and bought sandwiches for the road. Left Karlory Vory which he was speeding an arrived in Nuremberg at the War Crimes court house at 2:30 PM. At 3 PM he tried to take us to the ship and prior had the location written by Scenic on a piece of paper but he got lost. Arrived around 4:30PM. Hope this helps but Karlvory Vory is a beautiful town and well worth the trip. But as you are the reverse you will have more time in Karlvory Vory and not rushed to get to your location. Enjoy

For our trip in the fall of 2015, we had arranged a transfer from Nuremberg to Prague. The company is based in Prague so vice versa should be no problem.

Due to low water problems the ship never made it to Nuremberg and the cruise company gave us a ride to Prague on their bus.

We were able to notify the transfer company the day before and they were very understanding about the situation. Based on their nice replies, I would suggest contacting them.

Advantages of a private transfer, they can pick you up at your hotel and drop you off at the ship. Disadvantage: it will cost more than the train. CZK 5400.

The company we dealt with was:

Prague Airport Shuttle

We corresponded with Chris.

In Prague, I can recommend the Naked Tour Guide. Marcus only takes 8 people on a tour and is very reasonable priced. At the end of the tour, he will sit down with you to answer any questions and help with planning. The 8 am tour meant that there were very few people in front of the Astronomical Clock or on the Charles Bridge. Look at the reviews on Trip Advisor.

We found it easy to get from Nuremberg to Prague last year. We were just visiting Nuremberg on our way to Prague to begin our trip. Here is my blog about it: https://airlandandsea.wordpress.com/2015/07/07/our-day-in-nuremberg-germany/

The last paragraph tells about our transportation. It was a direct, non-stop bus that ran from the Nuremberg train station out front to the train station in Prague where we had a driver through our hotel pick us up. The bus was very inexpensive and very, very nice. It was a double decker and you could go first class or second class. We chose second class and sat in the upper level. You could probably buy our ticket at the bus stop but we had purchased it before on the german train web site. As I mentioned, there were no stops and probably about 15 of us on this trip

A few years ago we were on a Viking river cruise that started in Budapest and ended in Nuremberg. We used http://www.prague-airport-transfers.co.uk/ to get from Nuremberg to Prague. We were lucky to find another couple on CC booked on our cruise and shared the ride with them. We liked the company so much we also used them to get from our hotel in Prague to the airport at the end of our stay.

Hi Molemaui

We are doing the Viking Budapest to Nuremberg on Aug 26,2017, on the Gulveig. We are thinking of a post trip on our own in Prague, so we will be booking our own transportation. Would like to find others to share a van or? When are you going?

Thanks

Barry and Barbara

We did the same thing as Valley Girl of Va.

It was very easy and inexpensive. We got our tickets ahead of time before we left the states. There was a sign on a post right outside of the Nuremberg Train Station where to wait for the bus. Bus was clean with an attendant who saw to our needs besides the driver. Very quick and relaxing. We were dropped off in front of the Prague station. If you use a cab in Prague get it from the taxi stand and then make sure you know what it will cost and there is a meter in the cab.
