How much is air costing you?

I requested air from LAX to Tahiti with Princess with a deviation...going Sept. 15, returning Sept. 20, 06:

 

In Canadian dollars:

 

$1129 for air (economy)

 

$93.75 for the deviation

 

$81.25 for the air tax

 

Agent tells me Princess won't let her book it until next Sunday for these dates.

Our Princess air LAX to PPT is $880/pp for Mar/06. Air New Zealand has a deal for $825/pp if you can travel on the days they fly (M,W,F I think.)

We booked Air France back in May '05 from LAX to PPT for $1012 (USD) pp. This was for our upcoming trip in December this year. Only Problem with AF is that they don't fly every day so we will be staying in PPT for two extra days when we return from the cruise on the TP. ---- Well maybe that isn't a problem!:)

We booked our ATN flights LAX to PPT for $999 roundtrip. We're doing a 3-day pre-cruise and a 1-day post-cruise, which would require the deviation fee if we booked with Princess.

 

Our fare with Princess air would have been at least $1039 ($964 + $75 deviation). Princess air would also have charged for any airfare premiums for our flights. We're on the 1 pm LAX to PPT so we get in about 6 pm and are leaving on the 10 pm flight instead of having to wait until 11:15 pm flight.
