last sailing before dry dock

I don't know from personal experience but others here on CC have posted that sometimes they store materials for the drydock onboard before they begin, which can make things a bit more crowded. Someone also said they experienced the crew beginning some work during the last 2 days of their cruise, although that sounds very strange to me.

Like Shaded Lady, I have not experienced it first hand, but have read the same type of things.

They may begin to dismantle/prep for the drydock a day or two before the sailing ends.

Nothing horrible in the reviews, but maybe a little extra noise/nuisance type stuff.

Hopefully your cruise will be fine. Enjoy!!:D

If you have flexibility in your travel plans, I think it's advisable to choose another ship that isn't going into drydock at the end of the cruise. As other experienced CC contributors commented, oftentimes workers are brought aboard during the cruise to begin work which can be disruptive as well as noisy. It's happened to me.

We sailed on the Carnival Spirit from Vancouver BC to Hawaii on a 12 day, then the Spirit was moving to Australia. The first few days all services and bars were open, but after awhile the sports bar closed to upgrade to more Australian content, the casino was missing a lot of slots, and some slots machine were just sort of stuck in a hall way, they looked out of place. Some of the coffee machines in the buffet were being changed so it was hard to find a coffee sometimes. Also after a few days the TV did not get any channels, we thought once we got closer to Hawaii it would come back on, but it did not, they just played movies, and TV shows on a loop over and over again. But even with all these issues, it still was one of my favorite cruises..we just love Hawaii :) So, yes you could see work getting done but still all was good

My concern would be lot of crew about to leave on vacation and will not give same level of service on last cruise before vacation time.

The crew schedule does not change. They stay on the ship or in hotels near the dry dock during the work and still have full schedule of helping in the work or training. The dry dock is only a week or two.

I've heard about work still being done after dry dock. Not before though
