Taxes on Beverage Package

When you choose the beverage package as a free perk, will you be charged the taxes on your drinks while still in Port Everglades or while visiting any of the islands (i.e. Puerto Rico)? I ask as our daughter and son in law just sailed the NCL Epic and had the beverage plan as a perk but got charged for taxes on their drinks

This does not happen on Celebrity

Have never had any tax applied to a drink on Celebrity out of FLL or Miami.

We've never been charged on either celebrity or ncl.

No charges on celebrity out of San Juan, but did have taxes applied on NCL while still in port in Miami, I think at the end of the day it added up to about $3 and some change. We were late leaving port and didn't pull out until about 10 pm.
