So we are doing our 1st P&O cruise in March from Southampton. With less than 2 months to go when would you expect to be given the following:

1) Embarkation time

2) Itineraries indicating formal nights

We have a web account, where this information is still yet to materialise. In terms of embarkation time, we are keen to get this to align train times etc.

You will get your embarkation time when you print off your Eticket. 5/6 weeks before sailing you should get an email saying it's ready.

The second question regarding formal nights you will only find out for certain on board. Generally they are sea days.

Make sure you have completed the check list of things to do on the cruise personaliser, as you cannot print off your e-tickets until these have been done, you may well then see the embarkation time.

Unfortunately embarkation times are varied, suite passengers have early times so dont expect it to be before 2, last times are usually 3.30 p.m.

As has been said formal nights are usually on sea days and not usually on the first and last nights.

On each cruise we got to port at 11:30am and where onboard by 1pm - It's all very quick really (And exciting)

Formal nights we had 2 in the 7 nights. First one on the 2nd night and 2nd one on the 6th night.

Can't wait to go again :)

Thank you, we were looking to book our train tickets in advance to get the best rate. We'll probably go for midday, and if early grab a drink somewhere before heading to the port.

We always stay in a hotel the night before and go down to the dock about 11.30 regardless of the embarkation time. Hanging around in the embarkation lounge is no worse than in a coffee shop in town and although we are prepared to wait until the time on the ticket we have never had to.

We are usually on the ship within 2 hours and with a good book can easily fill the time.

For three of our recent cruises from Southampton we were given a boarding time of 3pm.We usually get there an hour before and wait which has usually been about 30 -45 mins. We don't mind as we travel down the day before and stay in Winchester spending the morning there and its stunning. For our last trip in a suite we arrived at lunch to see hoards of people already boarding. Make sure you enter your details on the cruise personaliser and I think the e-tickets are ready 6 weeks prior to travelling? Id just make sure you have enough time and even if you've to wait its not a bad atmosphere. Have a drink and chill! Enjoy!
