FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 12, 2017 Author #126 Share Posted February 12, 2017 Before going to Medical, I wanted to stop by Guest Services to report the lock. Had this been a small child or an elderly person that lock could have very well snapped their fingers. It needed to be fixed or put out of use immediately. We spoke to a lady at Guest services and , to me, she had a very aloof attitude. I'm not even sure if she caught the seriousness of the situation. We went to medical and had to wait just a few minutes as the nurse was just finishing up with another guest. When it was my turn, the nurse cleaned my finger and cut the remaining part of the nail away. This caused it to bleed more but she got the flow to finally stop. She bandaged me up good and put a finger cot over top of the entire bandage. It looked like a little plastic condom for fingers. I would've loved a pain killer but was afraid to ask. She probably wouldn't have been able to dispense it anyhow. The good thing was that I wasn't billed for the visit.....At least it never showed up on my S&S the next morning. I was concerned because I've heard that ship medical visits can be very pricey. Before I left, I asked the nurse to please follow up and make sure the faulty lock was properly reported. I had this hunch that the Guest Services lady brushed it off. The nurse assured me that she would. Off we went to see if we could make it to the MDR in time. ***. Just random....But the nurse and I made some small talk and she told me that she just left the Vista. I asked her how she liked it and she said just fine but she really loved being on the Paradise as her fellow crew members were all very friendly. I got the friendly vibe from this ship too. I'm glad she was happy.... She was such a very nice lady and a great nurse. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Forums mobile app
easyboy Posted February 13, 2017 #127 Share Posted February 13, 2017 That must really been painful. My wife once had a similar accident on her toenail. Afraid of infection, she had her doctor remove it at the clinic. Hope it getting better.

FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 13, 2017 Author #129 Share Posted February 13, 2017 After leaving medical, we headed for the MDR hoping it wouldn't be too late for me to grab some dinner. We had Anytime Dining so I felt pretty safe that 9pm would be OK. We passed the library and the Chef's Table was going on. It looked so fancy and elegant. I hope everyone in there had a great time. The dining room was starting to empty out so we had no issues getting a table for 2. Jay, still pretty full from his tuna wrap at 4pm, just ordered the vegetarian spring rolls and some tea. I had the French Onion Soup which I didn't finish as it tasted way too salty. I had the flat iron steak and a baked potato. I ate part of the steak and picked at the potato......I was hungry but my hand was throbbing and I just couldn't eat. The waitress suggested the warm melting chocolate cake.... I agreed. This was what I needed.... I limit myself to one every cruise and it was so delish! She even brought me chocolate ice cream in lieu of the vanilla. Since the dining room was slow at this time.....Our meal time went by quickly. After dinner, we decided to go to the Piano Bar and have a drink. FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 13, 2017 Author #130 Share Posted February 13, 2017 We entered the Piano Bar and all of the seats around the piano were full. We found a table in the middle of the room and ordered a drink from the bar waiter. A few more tables filled in and we settled for a good time.....That's what we were hoping for at least. This is where Adam again disappointed. He was at his piano singing. He had a nice little group that he was singing to and joking with.....I believe it was someone's birthday......But he never, not even once, acknowledged any newcomers nor anyone sitting at the tables. They're supposed to include everyone right? The other folks in the adjacent tables were just as baffled as we were. We had a couple to my left that told us that they are huge fans of the Carnival Piano Bars and that the Piano Player usually includes everyone.....The bar and surrounding tables. He had a tight knit group up there.....And that's all good but we wanted to be included also. We tried to sing along with the songs then Adam would abruptly stop and talk or joke then start up again on another song. It felt like he was at a private party and we were the crashers. I started to fill out some song request forms and slip a few bucks for tip bowl when the other couple suggested the music in the Casino Bar area. 3 couples in all left for the Casino Bar.....And Adam lost some tips and some fun a$$ people. He didn't even acknowledge that we had all left. What a big disappointment. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Forums mobile app
FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 13, 2017 Author #131 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Here is a pic from the Piano Bar. I'm not sure what the bathrobes were all about but this group seemed really fun and they were all having a good time. I just wish that Adam would remember that only a certain amount of people can sit at the bar and there are other guests that want to partake too. Anyone not seated at that bar was non-existent to him. . Sent from my XT1635-01 using Forums mobile app
FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 13, 2017 Author #132 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I wanted to stop by my cabin and try to rustle up some Ibuprofen for my thumb. My whole hand was throbbing now.... and I was kicking myself for not asking that nurse for some pain meds. I took the Ibuprofen and told Jay I wanted to sit back on the bed and let it kick in.......The next thing I knew, it was after 1 am and Jay was just returning from his last night out on the ship. I apparently fell asleep and he was nice enough to let me rest. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Forums mobile app
FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 13, 2017 Author #133 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I have searched everywhere but cannot locate the Fun Times for this last Sea Day. I'm sorry to anyone that was keeping track of them. I do have a few other things that I saved..... Room Service menu etc.... that I post on her later. FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 14, 2017 Author #134 Share Posted February 14, 2017 Room service came promptly at 6am with coffee, OJ and bagels. Eating breakfast in the cabin on debarkation day is a tradition for me. I don't like the hustle-bustle of the buffet on the last morning. At 6:45, I went down to the Rex Nightclub to gather my liquor. There were 2 lines set up. One side for Fun Shop Purchases and the other for any liquor bought in port. I had bought bottles in both so I had to stand in line twice....But no biggie. Everything was well organized and the lines moved very quickly. The key was to have your receipts in hand. The bottles were in neat rows behind the tables. They were separated by deck and then in order by cabin number. Bada-bing easy peasy. Fun Shop Purchase. . . Purchase from Cozumel. . Everything was neatly and securely wrapped. Your name was located on a printout sheet and then you had to show your receipt and S&S card. It seemed like a good system. There were a few staff members at each table plus runners to retrieve the bottles so all in all it was quick and painless. . FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 14, 2017 Author #135 Share Posted February 14, 2017 We left our room a little after 8am and waited in my favorite window seat area in front of the Coffee Bar. We were Zone 25 so we relaxed and kicked-back for the wait. Our zone was finally called around 10:15. We grabbed a porter but it was still another 45 min before we were through customs. The good thing about having a porter is that all of your luggage and bags are on a little luggage trolley. He stays with you and just moves the luggage cart right along. He took us all of the was out to the curb where we were to meet our shuttle. We tipped him and he was right there to take the bags from the now incoming shuttles. These Porter's are so nice.. 🛍🎒 Sent from my XT1635-01 using Forums mobile app
FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 14, 2017 Author #136 Share Posted February 14, 2017 The shuttle was taking new cruisers from the parking lot to the port and also picking up the returning cruisers, for a ride back to the lot, so there was an understandable wait but it wasn't too bad. Sometimes during a wait, you can strike up conversations and meet some really nice people. We made it to my vehicle and were pulling out of the lot at exactly Noon...Straight up. It was such a coincidence as we pulled up to the port on embarkation day at exactly Noon and pulled away from the port on debarkation day at Noon on the dot. FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 14, 2017 Author #137 Share Posted February 14, 2017 We had a great cruise and while everything wasn't perfect....It was still fantastic. I had issues with my thumb after returning home and had to seek additional medical help. I wish that I would've found out any possible protocol for follow up care.....Maybe there was none so no big deal. We went on this cruise for relaxation and the Paradise delivered. There was enough events and shows going on to keep it interesting with out it being on overload. Different ships for different people...But this is my new favorite ! I can't wait to rebook! FlaGrl4Evr Posted February 14, 2017 Author #138 Share Posted February 14, 2017 ****. Just a note for anyone flying into Orlando and sailing out of Tampa. We saw a huge Mear's Motorcoach Bus dropping off passengers from Orlando Airport. Mear's was then picking up passengers from the Port of Tampa for a trip back to MCO. So a heads up for anyone interested. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Forums mobile app

Reminds me of the time my 6'5" naked husband got out of the shower and smashed his toe on the foot of the bed. Seeing this giant hopping around nude had to be laughed at, sorry. I know it hurt as it took his nail off.
