We do not want to book excursion through cruise ship as I have my brother and his family in port on the same date....different ship. Would there be enough time to visit and return to ships. Ine Posted February 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Since you are with more personn you might want to talk to one of the guides oferring tours leaving from the port. Your other choice, take a bus from opposite the cruise terminal, you will see a big stop along the road in front of Walmart. A guy with clipboard will show you which bus you need to take to go to e.g. Sayulita. Nowadays a populair kind of hippy style beachresort. Bucerias is also possible, many canadians there. Driving time about 1 hour to Sayulita, 40 minutes to Bucerias. For a local view take a blue/white bus in front of the highrise building with Casino underneath it. Take a local bus to El Pittilal, just a short drive but very mexican. Nice church on the main square, lots of local shops and restaurants in the streets. for the busrides. Many drivers will accept US$, but bring many US$ 1,- bills. Maybe you will get change in Pesos, maybe not. Best is to bring Pesos of course. The old town/centro of Puerto Vallarta is busy but still very mexican too. Also easy to reach by bus. Check this website for lots of information. http://vallartainfo.com/

You were very helpful a few weeks ago when I was trying to set up a private drive for the Keukenof Garden in April. We will be in PV for a week starting on Saturday we stay at Los Tules in hotel zone and the will move up to Nuevo Vallarta for 3 weeks. Our world is so small once you start to travel!!! Hope you are enjoying the warmth of Puerto Vallarta in the winter!
