Carnival Spirit onboard credit and how does it work?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Cruising for first time soon on Carnival Spirit. On booking confirmation is states we have $200 onboard credit. Does anyone know how you can spend this? Do you HAVE to have an sail and sign card or can you just use the onboard credit and then use cash?

Thanks for any tips or info....

You will have the funds put on to a Sail & sign card. That you can use around the ship. Mainly to purchase drinks, Gambling or for purchase of Shore tours. You can top up the Sail & Sign card at customer service desk or at 2 machines on deck 2 if you stated cash as payment option. At end of cruise on last night go to customer service desk & they will refund you any monies in credit..

Their obc system is the same as all the other lines. Your obc is used for everything you purchase BUT as it is an Australian based cruise if you want to tip anyone you will have to use cash (unlike USA based ships that take the tips from your cruise card each day)

As the others have posted, OBC is for any on board purchases. The ships tend to operate as a cashless system and all passengers run a tab (account) which is then paid off at the end of the cruise. Just note that if you do not spend it, it is likely to be lost (you do not get it back as cash).
