First time on Carnival review from a cruise "snub"

Thanks to the OP for the review and feedback. Our situation is kind of opposite of his in that most of our cruises have been on Carnival with a few on other lines and our last two on RCI. Someone above asked about a price comparison and I can only speak to our first RCI cruise which we balanced it against a virtually identical Carnival cruise. We were looking at GS category cabins and the price difference between the two was well over $2000. This is one of those "your mileage may vary" situations but in that particular apples to apples comparison, RCI was more expensive but their suite perks are far superior to Carnival's (which are basically non-existant). Outside of price, we enjoyed both our RCI cruises and found that there are more similarities than differences between the two.

then i would go with carnival if ships are the same size roughly. if it was say $300 more only id choose RC personally.
