We were also told verify that the envelope that holds your S&S card is still sealed when you get it out of the mail box to ensure someone else hasn't charged anything to your card and then put it back before you get there.

Yeah. No one is going to mess with it. I couldn't get the dang thing open without making it blatantly obvious it had been opened. No one is going to steal your card and go on a spending spree. Your pic is tied to it and they will see it's not you. Plus as big as that ship is, who in the world would attempt that and expect to make it back to your cabin and put it back in the envelope and act as if nothing happened?

Casino is closed, shops are closed, spa is pretty much closed. Only things open are the bar and they swipe it and look at the pic. As far as the self serve beer station, highly unlikely. If so, go to Platinum line at GS. If they disabled those until you are underway, then that wouldn't even be a concern.

As you know, on the Vista (and the Sunshine), they have the self service beer machines (and a wine machine in the library on the Vista) so the pic is useless in that instance. I have no idea if it has happened but can only assume it has since we were "warned" by the lady checking us in to ensure the envelope had not been tampered with.

Would love to go to the Platinum line at GS but they would kick me out being Gold and all. ;p No worries, fixing that problem this Thanksgiving on the Liberty. :D

Funny thing, someone (most likely a server who wrote the wrong folio number down) charged a drink to my card before I even boarded (drink purchased at 1220, I boarded at 1230). Had to go to GS, took them 2 days to remove the charge. Heck, it wasn't even a drink I liked.

They wouldn't kick you out of the Platinum line. It says it right on the envelope! [emoji4]

Say's what on the envelope? All I read was my name and I ripped it right open!

I'll take a pic tonight when I get home (I save EVERYTHING [emoji3]). It said if it shows evidence of tampering to proceed immediately to the Platinum Guest Services line. You may just need those new pair of glasses we previously talked about [emoji23].

Are these weekly rates for a 7-day cruise?

Effectively, you get 1 day free if you pay for the whole cruise with the Social plan. On my 8 night cruise it was $5 a day or $35 for 8 nights for the Social plan. So multiply the daily rate (which is the same across the board) times one night less than your cruise length and that will be the cruise rate for the Social plan. Even bigger savings with the other plans.

Glad to hear you didn't have to wait in the normal GS line for no reason! That thing was LONG the first day.

During daylight hours, it was pretty long every day for my cruise. I don't remember walking by without seeing at least 10 people in the regular line.

I assume the rates are PER CABIN? Sadly, I'm lugging my laptop along for work (and I've already arranged for FOUR people to cover for me in my absence); Do I need to pay for separate plans for Wife's iPhone, my iPhone, and laptop?

All it says on the Carnival page about this is

Users may use one device at a time on each plan, including either their personal devices or one of our on-board computers.

Rates are per log in. So if you want DW and yourself to be online at the same time you will need 2 plans. If you are going to alternate and only have one person logged in at a time, you only need one. You don't need a separate plan for each of your devices. Example - I was on Vista. I had my laptop and iPhone. When I wanted or needed to type on the laptop, I logged into the device I wanted to use which logged me out of the other one. Does this make sense?

Per active device. You can log out of one device and log into another one but you can't have two devices logged into the same account simultaneously.

Funny! Also to note, while one can text and send picture texts on Whatsapp, a phone call cannot be completed.

Will a phone call go thru using FB messenger? I thought I read here ( can't find it now) that someone was able to make a call using msger.
