bonvoyagequeen Posted April 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2017 Would love to here any comments from anyone who has been on the AMAKristina. Does she smell new? Any glitches? How was the service/crew? Getting ready to board her May 6th :D
Needzavacation Posted April 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2017 We've been wondering the same thing! We're sailing on the May 27 cruise. There's a blog with some first impressions, but I think it's connected to a travel agency, so I can't post the link. But the bloggers are Baby Boomers who roam, so if you do a search and add the name of the ship, I bet you'll find it.;)
SuiteTraveler Posted April 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2017 Not specifically about Kristina, but here are the Yelp reviews: https://www.yelp.com/biz/ama-waterways-basel Here's a blog about the specific ship: https://www.theroamingboomers.com/blog/
Members Rare Cruise Critic Chris Posted April 20, 2017 Members #4 Share Posted April 20, 2017 Some of the first sailings were through Adventures by Disney, which is doing the Beauty and the Beast-themed itineraries. The christening is May 3. We will have an editor there.
Rare notamermaid Posted April 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2017 Hello Chris, the official version is the afternoon of the 10th May in Lahnstein. Have the plans changed (I mean a change at AmaWaterways having rescheduled this) at short notice? Do not want to get there on the wrong day. Thanks. notamermaid
Members Rare Cruise Critic Chris Posted April 21, 2017 Members #6 Share Posted April 21, 2017 Sorry, yes, the christening is May 10. Calendar is so full for us that I read it wrong! Anyway, we'll be there!

ReturnCruiser Posted May 22, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 22, 2017 We disembarked the AMAKristina on May 20, in Basel. The ship and staff were terrific. We had a well appointed cabin in the 200 range. While I suspect most cabins on this floor were quiet, I heard that a few passengers in lower cabins (100 range) felt some engine vibration at least one night when we had a greater distance to cover to reach the next port. All public rooms were nicely decorated. On several days, we enjoyed the lighter lunch served in the lounge. All main dining room meals were fine - no complaints. We attended a Chef's Table dinner on the last night and enjoyed a sampling menu. Bob
