I am going to buy OBC before we cruise in july because the exchange is better. If I don't use it all does it get refunded to my credit card

Yes we have Alaska with princess in July and Royal next year.

If you don't take it out onboard (maybe by charging to your room account on a slot machine) it might get mailed to you as a check, which is typically in US dollars. This can take as much as six weeks. You won't want to put more on the account than you can easily use unless you can change currencies back at a better rate later.

Just not sure how much we will need.. there are 3 adults and 2 kids using. We already have 150 that came with the cruise and all excursions and gratituties are paid. We aren't buying any drink packages as we are bring our own pop and order a couple bottles of rum.
