Has anyone done the Hawaii to Sydney cruise on Celebrity Solstice previously? We are booked on this cruise in 2018 departing on 1st October and would be keen to hear other people's experiences.

Best cruise ever!

We flew from the UK to Hawaii and spent a week enjoying.

Highlights from the cruise...

Seeing a whale of Morea.

Watching Bora Bora appear from the early morning mist.

Cruising through the hole in the rock, Bay of Islands.

Visiting Hobbiton....

We finished with a few days in Sydney.

Another bonus of this cruise is you are with people long enough (fellow guests and crew) to really make lasting friendships. We are meeting up with some friends from this cruise March 2018 in the Caribbean.

Hope you have an amazing time!

We too have done this cruise and it is great. We have a beautiful serene picture of Moorea as the ship departed.

Swimming with stingrays and sharks is DH's favorite memory.

Be sure to get up early when arriving in Sydney to see the Opera House with the lighting. Spend a few days in Sydney and maybe Melbourne also.

We did it last year and it is probably our favourite cruise, and we are lucky to have done quite a few.

Our highlight was swimming with a humpback whale and its calf on a celebrity excursion in Moorea - obviously this is not guaranteed but we were lucky.

Also recommend Patrick's (Maohi nui) tour in Bora Bora - swimming with the reef tipped sharks and sting rays. This gets booked up in advance.

If you can stay a few days in Hawaii precruise and in Sydney too. We only stayed two days post cruise (work calls) and it wasn't long enough.

The weather can turn a bit cooler on the last leg but it was still pleasant. On the last sea day it was very windy and we nearly stayed in our cabin but it was glorious by the pool.

Get the best cabin you can afford as it is worth it with so many sea days to enjoy it.

I would do it all again if the opportunity presented itself. Even with the long flights from the UK.

Again a boat trip, but was excellent.

We went to the Jenolan caves too

The best tours get booked up very quickly. I hope you enjoy your cruise as much as we did ours. It was so good I would do if all over again.

We have now done this itinerary or variations of it three times. In 2011 we boarded the now departed Century in Honolulu and left in Sydney; we spent some time in Australia before returning home. In 2014 we boarded the Century in San Francisco, and once we reached Sydney we stayed onboard for a 12 night South Pacific cruise; once we returned to Sydney we flew out to Uluru (Ayers Rock) for five days. In the fall of 2016 we boarded the Solstice in Honolulu for a B2B, leaving the ship in Singapore. And March, 2018 we plan to board the Solstice in Sydney for a Great Barrier Reef cruise followed by the trans-Pacific to Honolulu. These itineraries are so interesting we clearly enjoy repeating them.

We have not done this cruise on Solstice but we have sailed on this ship Hawaii to Vancouver. Lovely ship as all the S class are. We were on the first sailing Celebrity did down under (Mercury Hawaii to Sydney) and this remains in the top 3 cruises we have done. We also have sailed Sydney to Vancouver through Hawaii on Millennium. It is an awesome cruise and you will love every minute. Yes, it will be cooler in NZ and maybe raining. We were there in Nov/Dec and found it that way. Our top tour on this cruise was a helmet dive in Bora Bora.
