Upgrade offer on Sunshine

I was offered an upgrade from a balcony on deck 9 to an Ocean Suite balcony on Deck 7 for $314 for a 7 night cruise. I took it. Hope I did the right thing. We are doing a NE/Canada cruise. I am most looking forward to the priority check-in since my mother is 70 YO. We sail in September. First Carnival cruise and I was quite surprised to get the call

Your going to love the Sunshine and deck 7 suites are in a great mid ship location convenient to everything and in a quite location.

I've never sailed in a suite. Based only on other posts I've read here you received a really good offer.

We'll be in an OS on a September cruise to Canada too!

 

As far as the port, I'd recommend requesting wheelchair assistance for your mother. Unless things have changed, I recall there being a very steep ramp to board the ship.
