using on board credit in the casino

Recommended Posts

my wife are going on harmony and we have like 400 in credit. im considering getting the alchohol drink package before leaving at the 20% discount so after gratuities we will still have a few hundred left. we have used credit like this on some other cruise lines. I think we just went to the cage and had them put it on our card or they just put it on our bill and used the credit that way. how does it work on royal Caribbean? thank you

If the OBCs are from your TA, they are refundable and you may convert the balance into cash at Guest Services and use in the casino. I had a balance left over and was able to convert and allocate it as add'l grats.

I had our account set up as cash, no credit card on file, and took out obc at the casino. I was not charged anything, no 5% charge. This was last November so has it changed?

A cash type account is still exempt from the 5% charge.
