Cruise cash Vs Gift cards for sail and sign account

Hello all I noticed online I can purchase up to 500 dollars in cruise cash for our upcoming cruise next fall. It states that any unused funds are non-refundable. When I called Carnival to inquire about this they said I would have 2 accounts I could pull from. The cruise cash account and the sail and sign. Does anyone have any idea what they are talking about? It read online like the cruise cash would go right onto the sail and sign account, and just like the previous cruise I can pull funds via the casino (3% fee applied). I'm just confused on if we're going to have 2 accounts or just one account. Thanks for the info.

everything is in one big account called your sail n sign folio account. in this account is different types of funds: non-refundable and refundable

when you make a purchase using your sail n sign card, it will use the non-refundable credits first then the refundable founds second.

cruise cash will automatically be applied to your account. If you use gift cards, you will need to go to guest services to get them applied to your account. Gift cards are refundable, not sure about cruise cash but if you are reading nonrefundable, then casino is a good option to get it out.

That's what I did last year. We were on the last day so I went to the casino, swiped the S&S card for as much as I could get with the fee, played a few hands of cards and then went to the cashier. Saves from having to wait for a check to be mailed to the house.

I hope the other posters have helped understanding the terms of the ship board account. Cruise cash is non-refundable but since you can only buy $500.00 I doubt there would be any leftover. If there is you can go to the casino and load it to a slot machine and then cash out thus get you money.
