jinteso Posted July 13, 2017 #26 Share Posted July 13, 2017 A marker is basically a line of credit. Some people may not want to do that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I just found out above that you can also "pre-deposit" money with the casino. I just need to call them and figure out how now. Then you can still ask for a marker and not have a line of credit.
victory2020 Posted July 14, 2017 #27 Share Posted July 14, 2017 The ATMs always a have a fee. Any cash you get form the casino no matter how you accomplish it (unless you are a high level casino card holder) incurs a 3% fee. Having OBC is irrelevant. There are slot tournys, you can charge them to your account, no 3%. You can cash out the money you have in a slot machine at any time. Thanks, just wanted to make sure I can use on board credit in casino.

victory2020 Posted July 14, 2017 #29 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Al long as it is refundable OBC you can. I believe it's non refundable - maybe someone can answer for sure $50 from NCL $40 from travel agent.

You don't think you are going to spend $90 throughout your cruise? If it were me, i wouldn't worry about whether I could cash it out in the casino because my onboard account will have accumulated more than that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/quote I've been on 40 plus cruises & the only charge on my onboard account is the gratuities which I understand on NCL cannot be taken out of non refundable OBC, that's why I'm asking. victory2020 Posted July 14, 2017 #32 Share Posted July 14, 2017 NCL does not charge gratuities, I think you mean the DSC, that (since it is a like cash item, cannot be paid for with non-refundable OBC. Yes, I consider DSC the same as the basic gratuities on other lines. I know you cannot use non refundable OBC for those, just trying to figure out if non refundable can be used for slot machines, and if I can get cash out if I have win(fat chance) or don't use all the amount I have loaded to casino. njhorseman Posted July 15, 2017 #33 Share Posted July 15, 2017 No non-refundable cannot be used for anything 'near cash'. I've been able to use non-refundable OBC by obtaining cash in the Breakaway's casino on several occasions. I just paid the 3% charge for doing so. Admittedly it's been at least a year since I've done that. Do you have personal experience that it wasn't allowed recently?

Wow. Only the DSC? Not even taxes on drinks? Never buy a future cruise certificate? With 40 plus cruises sounds like you would have saved a lot of money using them. Do you never take a cruise line excursion? Spa? Photos? Specialty restaurants? I can't imagine the only thing on my bill just being the DSC. More power to you. victory2020 Posted July 16, 2017 #35 Share Posted July 16, 2017 Nope, do 2-3 cruises a year & am happy with the basics. I do buy future cruise certificates on Princess, my usual line & they do not charge them to onboard account. I haven't sailed NCL since 2000 & am only going because of Cuba.
