Oasis July 9th review

Recommended Posts

Were there photographers every night? Did you have to seek them out or was there a way to locate them ahead of time? Thanks, great info!

Yes they are all over the promenade just about every night. Lines can get long in formal night. They are also at the entrances to the MDR

Thank you for the review and photos. Do you remember how long your excursion stayed at Honeymoon Beach on Water Island?
We were only there about an hour. They made more rum punch for us as we bobbed in the water. I'm still dreaming about those fish tacos.

Final thoughts:

We did Sabor on the last sea day. It was just OK for us, probably won't do it again. We were confused about the portion size and after they brought out a couple of plates we didn't order we had a table filled with food that we won't eat. Made us feel bad and gave us a case of the "fats".

It rained on the last day. We watched person after person fall on the boardwalk. This happened to my GF as well while she was wearing wedges. Be careful! She didn't know it till just yesterday that she fractured her hand in 3 places.

I'm really glad I started on smaller ship classes first. I don't know if that's why I like them more but I just do. It'd have to be an amazing deal to get me to want to do an oasis class ship again. Trust me when I say it's not all bad, and maybe it was a culmination of events that made me miss the freedom class ships. I think our next cruise is going to be southern Caribbean on freedom and then take the kids on liberty next summer. Speaking of summer, this was our first summer cruise as well. It made me remember why I don't want to move to Florida. I like the dry Texas heat better.

Some more thoughts on how big this ship is. You can see all the ones I've been on previously. It really is huge and I agree with previous posters that it really takes two weeks to enjoy.

My son did the rock climbing and loved it. He's kind of an introvert and at 15 not very social. He said he wished he did more of the teen activities in the beginning. I tried to warn him lol. Also he got invited to a quincenera (spelling?) And didn't go. It was really nice seeing them all dressed up. I don't belong to that culture but it was neat seeing it.

With that being said we typically don't do shows. We do love and marriage and the quest and that's it. The kids tagged along for a bit but then did there own thing. I'm sure the shoes are fabulous but I don't want to spend 3 hours of my cruise seeing cats.

What we did like was the pub. The singer this go around was kat wells and she's awesome if you get to know her. She was on freedom and instantly recognized us.

Boleros is another favorite. We liked the band, Latin express, better on liberty. These guys were good though. I think they were called Dominican hear or some thing. They played our favorite Latin song and I danced in flip flops (funny story). We went there a couple times and had a good time.

When we cruised the Oasis 3 years ago they allowed Cigar smoking in the Boleros...NOT good for us! Would love to go in and watch the Latin dancers, do they still allow smoking?

I can confirm there's no cigar smoking in boleros.

Any smoking at all allowed? I'm so hoping no smoking now, we'd love to go inside this time!!

The only place to smoke inside the ship is the smoking lounge ... sometimes referred to as the casino.

Thanks for your review!

we leave on Sunday and this will be our first time on the oasis and I hate crowds too so I am a little worried but super excited for the kids.

It's not so bad on the boat. Off the boat can be a different story. My son said he'd wished he got more involved in the teen activities from the beginning. Kids will be of a though. If you got any other questions feel free to ask.
