Wildcatfish Posted September 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2017 We are considering spending a day in NYC prior to our Anthem cruise. What is the easiest way to get from the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 W 42nd St) to the 911 Memorial/Museum? Thanks for any suggestions.
Rare markeb Posted September 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2017 MTA Trip Planner http://tripplanner.mta.info/MyTrip/ui_web/customplanner/results.aspx You can take a cab, but this is probably the quickest way. 2 of the 3 leave from 42nd St - Times Square Station, the other from the 42nd Street - Port Authority Bus Terminal subway station. George C Posted September 13, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2017 I would pre-buy tickets to 9/11 museum also get Uber app handy to have even as a backup, also elevator to top observation deck is really amazing but no need to pre-buy that
TSS Alex Posted September 13, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2017 Both the #2 and # 3 trains run through Times Square on the express track and will take you to Fulton St. Except on weekends (Friday 2300 to Monday 0500) between now and summer 2018, while the tunnel between Manhattan and Brooklyn is being renovated. During those times, the #3 will terminate on the express track at 14 Street and the #2 will go to South Ferry, along with the #1.
Brighton Line Posted September 14, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 14, 2017 Both the #2 and # 3 trains run through Times Square on the express track and will take you to Fulton St. 7th Ave the 1/2/3 trains have count down clocks in the station telling when the train will arrive. 8th Ave A/C/E does not have those yet, they are coming though. And most subway lines on weekends or late nights will have services changes and diversions, you need to check online. Service change notices for the weekend are physically posted in the stations by Thursday, online sooner.
TSS Alex Posted September 15, 2017 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2017 7th Ave the 1/2/3 trains have count down clocks in the station telling when the train will arrive. 8th Ave A/C/E does not have those yet, they are coming though. All E stations should have working countdown clocks at this time. Sent from my iPad using Forums
