Adventure Ocean - strict with age groups?

I have two boys, ages 9 & 12 at time of sailing. Here's the deal--my older son is on the autism spectrum. He is high functioning and can communicate just fine, but he is very immature for his age. He will turn 12 three weeks before the cruise. Do you think the Adventure Ocean staff would allow him to participate in the Voyagers group (9-11) with his younger brother? There is no way he would fit in with the 12-14 age group.

Above 12 there really is not much of a group. There is a meet and mingle the first night and then some sports activities. The rest of the time the living room is just an area to congregate.

Yep. My outgoing extrovert friends with everyone (one of his dear friends is 18) and talklfor his age (with a nearly changed voice) then 12 year old felt too young for the room. Didn't go back after day 1.
