Hello! We took a last minute, unexpected Fascination cruise due to the free offer Carnival was offering. It was myself and my two sons, 18 and 15. We did have a nice time. Some great things I loved about the sailing was the lines ... there weren't any. Last cruise on Magic when we tried to go for the buffet breakfast there were lines that took about 30 minutes to get through at times. On Fascination I just walked right up and got breakfast, and I found this to be the case for almost all meal times. Wonderful! There was no difficulty finding a place to sit and eat or a place to sit and relax. I found that the entertainment was lacking and there were times when nothing much was offered, except for Bingo, which isn't something I enjoy - but I know plenty of others do.

The ports of Nassau and Freeport are ones I have visited. I got off just to stretch my legs and take a picture. Walked around a bit - very pushy people trying to sell you things. We did not do any excursions.

As a smoker, I can tell you the smoking section was small on the lido and always packed. However, I found that those that had empty seats at their table were 100% willing to share their tables with strangers. That would be a bonus to non-smokers (lol). The casino bar had a very small section for smokers and that was also packed all the time.

We ate in the dining room twice - food was pretty good, definitely no complaints. The food on the lido was fine was well - not fine dining but we didn't expect that.

All in all for a last minute cruise it was a fun time. I really do like the smaller ships and the lack of crowds.

Wanted to add - debarkation was rough! We were on the Riviera deck and did not check luggage on or off. We were supposed to start disembarking I believe at around 8am. There was a storm on our last night (it was a bit hard to sleep) so we docked late. When they started calling people to disembark, the first who were supposed to be off were those on the Rivera deck who had all their luggage. They closed the stairs down so there were crowds of people stuffing themselves into the elevators. Of course, there were plenty of those that didn't follow directions and were from other decks and with checked luggage that tried to get off, and they didn't allow them to ... putting them back on the elevators up to a higher deck while we waited to get a spot on the elevator on Riviera. It was very chaotic! There were only 3 custom agents as well which made for long lines leaving the port. We had expected to be on our way around 8:30 am but it was about 10:30 before we actually got on the road.
