Wondering if anything has changed with the Connections Party and Captain's Club parties since our last cruise on Celebrity 2 years.

Does Cruise Director and/or ship's Officers attend each of these events?

Prizes, snacks?

Thanks

I attended the connections party last June on the Summit. The Captain, the cruise director, and the officers attended and mingled with the group. There were over 30 people signed up, but only seven people attended. They provided coffee, pastries, and water.

It was very nice, and I had the opportunity to talk to Captain Kate for a few minutes. The other officers were very nice also.

There was a Q&A with the Captain and the first mate (I do not know if that is the correct term) on another day and it was very informative.

Connections gathering usually has CD, Captain and some Officers- they get introduced and the Captain may say a few words & they leave. When we first started cruising X officers would do Q&A, haven't seen that happen in a few years. Coffee, juice, Danish are available there no prizes that I have seen.

Officers present vary by cruise and itinerary and if there is something else going on where they are needed elsewhere. On recent Equinox cruises the senior staff were engaged in lots of conference calls with Miami as the ship was being re-routed to an altered itinerary due to Hurricane.

Connections Party is often in the morning and they serve juice, pastries, coffee. If there are prizes at the Connections party it's because someone on the Roll Call has initiated this. It isn't something Celebrity does as a matter of course.

Captain's Club Celebration is often in the afternoon and they serve wine, sparkling wine, beer, some mixed drinks and have passed snacks and sometimes even dessert type nibbles.

We just sailed Equinox and the party was not great. It was held in passport bar which was not a great place, CD spoke a couple of minutes and introduced some officers. He turned over Mike to woman who had organized slot pull and cabin crawl. At the end in a very awkward position she went to give the mike back to the CD and he was gone along with the officers. Felt like they were going through the motions.
